๐ Centering in The Five Precepts for the Autumn Season
Just for today:
I will listen when anger shares a message with me and return to center.
I will breathe back to center when worries arise.
I will embrace the tapestry of gratitude that connects us.
I will stay centered in my practice.
I will wrap myself and the world in a quilt of compassion.

๐Autumn Light Meditation ๐
Find a seated position that is comfortable and supportive.
Bring your hands to Gassho (palms together), offering you intention for your practice and inviting any animals to join you if they wish.
You may recite your affirmation or the Autumn Precepts.
Breathe down into your belly. On the inhale, imagine golden sunshine entering through the nose and nourishing every cell of your body with healing energy. Gather this vibrance within.
As you exhale, your own inner light radiates from your heart, mind and body into the world.
With each in and out breath, notice you stability expanding, like an Autumn sunset across a field.
Stay here, breathing, being, welcoming and releasing light as long as you like.
When you are finished, bring your palms together in gratitude for a moment embrace the life-giving energy of the Autumn season.
๐ Sacred Seeing, Visio Divina๐
The practice of Visio Divina, or sacred seeing, is when we spend time viewing creation, art depicting creation, or even making our own art, as a way of connecting with divine spirit. This practice pulls us into our senses as a doorway into our own heart space. Adele Ahlberg Calhoun writes that this practice helps us move into gratitude for beauty, and develop the โability to receive what the seasons of life give us.โ She suggests we gaze with openness, seeing creation as Godโs sees. In Reiki practice, we sometimes say, โseeing with our Reiki eyes.โ
Give it a try with the images below from the Autumn Season at Knucklehead Creek, from your own images, or go out into nature as see what arises.
